The Broadway Musical

Book by Allan Knee, Music by Jason Howland, Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein
Based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott

 

Louisa May Alcott’s beloved tale of the March sisters is given fresh life in a powerful and heartfelt musical. The aspiring writer Jo takes advice to write about her own life, and weaves together stories of her growing up with her mother and sisters. Set during the American Civil War, Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth March navigate creativity, poverty, jealousy, love and loss; strengthening their family bond with laughter, tears, and soaring spirit.

 

Director Ann M. Shanahan leads actors Ava Childs, Caleb Clark, Christopher Conkle, Addie Currier, Jenny Duarte Castillo, Miranda Faist, Lily Garbelman, Dylan Juni, Felicia Lawrence, Jameson Milhaupt, Isabel Najera, Eliza Rabe, Sarah Rhoads, Owen Seghal, Alex Sheremeta, Ella Smith, A.J. Stoffels, and Niko Valcin.

 

J. Adam Shelton is the music director, Kristin Roling is the choreographer, Rachel Reichard  is the assistant director and dramaturg, Audrey Lauren Standish is the intimacy director, Clare Haden is the vocal and dialect coach, Jessica Kuehnau Wardell is the scenic designer, Aly Renee Amidei is the costume designer, assisted by Claire Hesser, Brandon Wardell is the lighting and projections designer, Joshua Nguyen is the sound designer, Rob Wagner is the technical director, Isabel Osterhus is the props director, assisted by Mara Hansen, and Lucy Cowen is the stage manager, assisted by Mitchell Anderson.

 

Content Advisory: This production contains themes of grief, terminal illness, and the loss of a sibling. It includes emotionally intense scenes related to death and familial conflict. Suitable for most audiences, but some material may be emotionally challenging for young children.
