This site was developed to be fully maintainable by nearly all of the individuals in our performing arts community. You can log in to control your information on this site.
This site was designed to be easy to use and promote informational fluidity. No fluff. Just information that organizes itself.
This site will be continually enhanced with new features and data.
This site will always be free to use for the Madison performing arts community.
My production/audition already exists?
Today, Mad's Theatre is creating as many productions/auditions as we're aware of. And when we create your productions/auditions, we won't copy your details here but will instead link directly to any page with the best set of your production/audition information.
If you want ownership of the productions/auditions that Mad's Theatre creates, we can easily transfer that. Contact us on the General Contact form.
What if you create a duplicate? That's fine too! We'll be checking and if we find any duplicates of productions/auditions that we create, we'll just remove ours in favor of yours.
Why a new website?
Facebook, community calendars, and news outlets... oh my 🤦
When information is spread out and there is no single one-stop-shop, then things are harder to organize.
Let's change that.

Who created Mad's Theatre?
That would be me, Benjamin Barlow :)
I've participated in productions with most of Madison's theatre organizations, from Mercury Players Theatre on the Drury Stage at the Bartell Theatre to Madison Opera on the Capitol Theatre stage at the Overture Center.
I also develop websites and saw both a need in our theatre community and an opportunity to learn new skills.
Starting with just a Drupal core, I wrote the code to build this website from the very ground floor using SQL, PHP+Twig, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript along with best practice data modeling.
