CTM Celebrates Sixty Years and Hosts a Family-Friendly Musical Revue: Taste of Broadway at the Sylvee May 30, 2026
(Madison, WI) MADISON – May 19, 2026 Children’s Theater of Madison (CTM) is celebrating sixty years of educating youth and building community through the creation and experience of theater. The sixtieth season culminates Saturday May 30, 2026 with a family-friendly dinner theater experience, Taste of Broadway at the Sylvee.
"As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, this year’s event feels especially meaningful,” says Allen Ebert, Executive Director of CTM. “For six decades, CTM has brought young people, families, artists, and this community together through the power of theater. This family-centered event is a celebration of that mission. It will be a joyful space where generations can connect and experience quality family entertainment together.”
Directed by Artistic Director Brian Cowing with music direction by Mark Wurzelbacher, the show will feature songs from hit Broadway shows CTM has performed over the past sixty years, such as Disney’s Newsies the Musical, Roald Dahl’s Matilda, Tuck Everlasting, Hadestown, The Wizard of Oz and more; all performed by over thirty local artists and CTM youth. CTM alumni, including well-known professional stage and screen actors, will make special appearances.
The event is intended for all ages, including families with children. Dinner will be a catered buffet and drinks can be purchased at the cash bar. All proceeds will benefit CTM’s mission to bring accessible arts education and programming to Madison area youth.
The night will also feature the official announcement of Children’s Theater of Madison’s 2026-27 mainstage season.
