Help Mad's Theatre! It takes some work running this site ๐Ÿ—๏ธ

Mad's Theatre serves the Madison area performing arts community.

This site is almost entirely maintained by one individual. And that person is me, Benjamin Barlow.

I pay for the hosting. I spend the time collecting (almost) all the current news. I spend the time assembling/producing Show Biz Buzz with Bruno. I maintain and add new functionality behind the scenes...

And I am so incredibly grateful to know that people use Mad's Theatre. It's a labor of love and I really do love to do all of this. I want to sincerely thank you for reading this and using this resource. You using Mad's Theatre alone makes everything I do worth it ๐Ÿ˜Š

It would be good to share that I don't need help running this site. I would much more prefer you use your time helping all the organizations in our community. Get out there and be on a board, on a production team, or on a stage! Those are all things that are way more important than this website.

With all that being said, if you do want to help contribute to Mad's Theatre's ability to serve the community, I would love to know!

Some things I think could be useful to have some help with...

  1. Assistant Producer for Show Biz Buzz with Bruno
    • Organizing schedules and coordinating guests
    • Any/All Social Media
    • Owning the audio podcast distribution
    • Occasionally running the show (I'll always be available to train and help on all of the technical equipment)
  2. Social Media... well, just Bluesky
    • The madstheatre.com website is really the source for everything... but...
    • I think it'd be great if someone were interested in running the Mad's Theatre Bluesky account
  3. Writer
    • A few years ago, I built out the functionality to host written articles by the community.
    • I wrote one about a Forward Theater's What the Constitution Means to Me.
    • Sam D. White wrote one about MTG's Bad In Bed.
    • Jan Levine Thal & Steve Noll teamed up for one about Agatha Christie.
    • I can't guarantee any benefit for writing an article, but I could maybe finagle a comp ticket if you want to review a show at the Bartell Theatre.
    • If you want to write an article on Mad's Theatre to promote your show, I think that would be an excellent use of this platform!
  4. Anything Else!
    • I don't know... What do you want to help with?!?

So yeah, if you want to help, just reach out on the form linked below.

It's good to mention that any help you give Mad's Theatre is entirely voluntary. While I've had several ads, they've all been free exchanges so this has continued to be an entirely negative net revenue operation for me. If that changes, then I'd love nothing more than to share any revenue Mad's Theatre takes in with all the people who help. But for now, that's unfortunately just not the case.

And for you, that read all this way down and would prefer to be just a user of this online performing arts resource for Madison, Wisconsin, that makes me very happy and that is awesome too. THANK YOU! ๐Ÿ˜Š
