SBR Theater is a rather informal unincorporated theater group, consisting mostly of, and funded by, Nick Schweitzer. The name comes from "Surrounded By Reality", the Madison Sesquicentennial Play produced by MTG in 2006, and it is a successor to the equally informal Wilder Theater which produced "Love and Trauma" and "Returning Home" in the Bartell Theater in 2016 and 2019 respectively. SBR collaborated with the Madison Shakespeare Company to produce "A Timely Intervention by the Former Barber of Seville (Figaro's Final Adventure)" in the Bartell in 2023.
