Monkey Business Institute (Madison's Favorite/Best of Madison) is an improv comedy troupe formed in 2002 with roots in Madison ComedySportz. We perform classic short-form improv (The All-Ages Show, The Grown Up Show) as well as a rotating lineup of our own unique long-form shows (The Music Department, Yes Ma'am, Impromp2, The Merge, and more).
Our troupe is made up of uniquely talented local performing artists who have spent years learning what makes great improv tick. We are professional musicians, stage actors, voice actors, writers, composers, and stand-up comedians. We have performed thousands of public and private improv shows all over Madison and the Midwest, taught hundreds of improv classes to amazing students, run summer improv camps for tweens and teens and entertained guests at weddings, conferences, holiday parties, and family gatherings. We have eaten seventy thousand pizzas.
