Calling all collegiate theatre techs!
Wisconsin Singers is hiring Madison-area college students to join our Theatre Tech Team! We're looking for talented Lighting Designers, Sound Engineers, and Stage Managers to go on tour with us in 2026-27.
The Theatre Tech Team will gain valuable experience with a professional-level touring company by teching for and managing live shows in a variety of venues all across Wisconsin. These positions are not paid, but will receive scholarship dollars.
Responsibilities: Theatre Tech Team responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lighting Tech: Design the lighting of a Broadway-caliber production using industry-standard ETC Nomad software | Get experience operating a wide variety of lighting boards | Focus new lighting rigs at each tour stop
Stage Manager: Coordinate the logistical operations of over 30 touring shows every year | Get professional experience in a variety of venues around the nation | Work closely to problem-solve with a dedicated team of student performers and technicians
Sound Engineer: Design the sound of our professional production using industry standard programs like Qlab and Logic Pro | Mix over 30 microphones using a 72 channel digital soundboard | Use an industry standard microphone and speaker system
Requirements:
Tech Team must:
- Reside around the Madison, WI area from late August 2026 through May 2027
- Be currently enrolled at UW-Madison or another Madison-area college or university

Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin Singers entertains more than 50,000 annually with stellar vocals, stunning choreography, and spectacular live band with music from the past forty years. Wisconsin Singers students come from a variety of majors across campus, all of whom have a passion for excellence, either onstage as a performer or working behind the scenes in backstage/entertainment management internships. Wisconsin Singers has been touring the country for 57 years with brand new shows each year, created to engage audience members of any age.
