Children's Theater of Madison (CTM) seeks one or more Production Coordinators for our upcoming Summer Stage productions of the following shows:

  • How I Became A Pirate Younger@Part
  • Disney's Winnie The Pooh Kids
  • Sleepy Hollow
  • The Music Man Kids

Please see below for more details. Note that Madison-area locals or those able to work as such are preferred for this role, as housing is not provided for this position.

 

Key Dates

  • Pre-production discussions in May/June
  • How I Became A Pirate program dates: June 16 - June 27, 2025
  • Winnie The Pooh program dates: June 30 - July 11, 2025
  • Sleepy Hollow program dates: July 14 - July 25, 2025
  • The Music Man program dates: July 28 - August 8, 2025
  • Preference is given to candidates who can do all four shows, but those available for one, two, or three shows are still encouraged to apply.

 

About The Show & Summer Stage

CTM's production of the above shows is part of Summer Stage, CTM's summer educational day camp programming. Over the course of two weeks, students rehearse and perform the show, with performances in the Sunrise Theater (Black Box) at the Madison Youth Arts center (MYArts). Production elements are simple and intended to support the show's core story and the educational aspects of the programming.

 

Position Description

The Production Coordinator is responsible for pulling and providing basic costume accessories and props for the show, and leading the students in a hands-on project to create a basic scenic or prop element for the show. More details are below.

 

Student-Built Project: Students will design and construct a prop, scenic element, or costume piece for the production. This hands-on session, led by the Production Coordinator, will take place on the second Tuesday of the program from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.

 

Set & Props: The production will be staged at the Sunrise Theater, utilizing CTM-provided black furnishings (stools, benches, blocks) and soft goods for backdrops, wings, and crossovers. Props will primarily be sourced from CTM stock.

 

Costumes: Students will wear a base look from their own clothing. The Production Coordinator will provide accessories from CTM stock as available.

 

Compensation

$300 stipend per show.
