Open call for performance artists! Including but not limited to...Esoteric drag queens, avant-garde theatre-ists, postmodern dancers, and poets with a flair for theatricality~!
A night of avant-garde theater and performance art at Broom Street Theater awaits!
We are seeking works-in-progress from performance artists--all bodies, disciplines, and uncategorizable impulses welcome. Whether your piece is fully formed or just a spark of an idea, we want to see it/talk about it.
Auditions: August 29th & 30th, 6–8 PM at Broom Street Theater
(1119 Williamson St).
Performances will be November 7 – 23, Thurs-Sun
Prepare for:
- A short artist interview (let’s chat about your vision!)
- A snippet of your performance at any stage of development
- Feel free to bring samples and photographs of past work across any medium. I want to get to know you as an artist.
To secure an audition time slot, email rsvpinertia@gmail.com ahead of time. Walk-ups are welcome, but scheduling ensures smoother flow and private auditions for all.
Optional submission: Send a pitch of what you’d like to perform, past work samples (and your CV if you have one), alongside a short bio to that same email (rsvpinertia@gmail.com).
No prior documentation? No problem! If you’re an artist eager to create and express, we especially want to meet you.
Rehearsals will be a series of expressive and movement workshops (no dance experience required—just openness to explore!), all facilitated by director and artist, Chelsea Gaspard-Guthier to help bring out your instincts to refine your work and create a cohesive showcase.
Come as you are. Create with us!
Submit proposals for live works (5-15 minutes) exploring:
- mysticism and altered states
- drag as evolution
- theatrical ecologies/choreographies of decay
- self transformation
- all bodies, disciplines and uncategorizable impulses welcome!
If you have questions or are unable to make an audition on August 29 or 30, please email rsvpinertia@gmail.com.
